MAWHA GIRLS' YOUTH LEAGUE SCORE SHEET INFORMATION
Please note the following regarding MAWHA
Girls' Youth League score sheets:
1. All MAWHA Girls'
Youth League teams are required to use the official MAWHA Girls' Youth
League score sheets for all MAWHA Girls' Youth League games.
2. Please note that
the fax number for MAWHA Girls' Youth League Commissioner, Paul Puchalik
is 609-620-6153. This is a different number than the one
printed on score sheets from previous seasons, so please be sure to use
score sheets for the 2006-2007 season as a reference for updated contact
information.
3. When recording
players on the roster section of the score sheet, please list players in
the order of the permanent jersey numbers (please do not list in
alphabetical order or randomly).
4. If a player is not
wearing her permanent jersey at a league game please be sure to record
the number of the temporary jersey in the roster section of the score
sheet, next to the number of her permanent jersey.
5. Please note that
statistics will not be entered for incomplete score sheets. Common
reasons score sheets are incomplete are listed below. For more
details regarding the appropriate completion of the score sheet, please
review the Annotated Score Sheet (see blue menu bar at top of page).
-
Goaltender information is not complete.
Home team score
keepers are reminded to obtain the jersey number and surname of both
goalies. NOTE: Goalie statistics will not be entered for home
team goalies until the name and number of the opposing team goalie are
provided by the home team scorekeeper, manager or coach and confirmed
by the opposing team. Other common errors include not recording
the time split if more than one goalie defends the net for a team and
not recording the total number of shots faced by the netminder(s) per
period.
-
Goal information is inaccurate or
incomplete. Common errors in
the Goals section include recording a jersey number to be credited
with a goal or assist that does not appear in the roster section of
the score sheet, failing to record the period in which the goal was
scored and failing to record the type of goal (even-strength, power
play, short-handed, open-net).
-
Penalty Information is inaccurate or incomplete.
Common errors in
the Goals section include recording a jersey number against whom a
penalty was assessed that does not appear in the roster section of the
score sheet, failing to record the period in which the penalty was
assessed and failing to record the surname of the player that was
assessed the penalty. Also, scorekeepers should note that the
time the player began serving the penalty should be recorded in the
Time Off column, while the time that the penalty ended due to
expiration of the penalty or due to the opposing team scoring a power
play goal, should be recorded in the Time On column.
-
Timekeeping.
For all MAWHA Girls' Youth League statistics, goals and penalties are
recorded based on time remaining in the period, not time elapsed.
For example, if a player scores a goal with 5:00 minutes remaining in
a 15:00 minute period, the goal would be recorded as being scored at
5:00 remaining in the period and not 10:00 elapsed in the period.
